Make sure you buy an extended warranty

The 5th Honda in our family and 3rd Pilot, and unfortunately our last. Despite great styling, lots of good features (which requires the ‘Elite’ model), very comfortable ride, and surprisingly good fuel economy, that legendary Japanese reliability has clearly faded. At just over 50K miles the fuel injectors needed replacing - a $1500 repair if we hadn’t bought the $1700 extended warranty, and at just over 60K miles the A/C compressor failed (on a boiling hot day while we were out of state of course) which was a $2000 repair without the warranty.…
This is a great SUV.

I purchased a new Pilot EX-L for my wife in Feb. It has 2400 miles on it now. I was a bit reluctant to purchase a Pilot after reading the negative comments - poor engine power, bad handling, bad infotainment system, etc. , from some owners on this site. We also looked at the Edge and Highlander; however my wife wanted the Pilot because it drove and handled more like a car than a truck. And Im really glad she did. At 280 HP, the engine smooth, quiet, and has plenty of power. I also think the handling is quite exceptional for a large SUV. My wife claims the voice command and music off her i phone works great. The Pilot is one of the most comfortable vehicles Ive ridden in and it has loads of room. The only negativeI can find is the power tailgate doesnt fit perfectly. The seam on the left side is almost a 1/16th of an inch wider than the seam on the right side. This is an anomaly because the fit and finish inside and out on the rest of the Pilot is perfect. I highly recommend the Pilot if you are looking for an SUV this size.…
Cracking/popping sound. Car dash and info system d

Seeing too many reviews already on 2020 honda pilots where a cracking/popping sound is heard leading to info and dash system crashes. This escalated in one day for me unfortunately when dealers are all closed for the holidays. The system would say radio unavailable then network connection unavailable then completely shut off and reset. Since then it has now shut off and will not turn back on. I cannot drive this car as I have no visibility to my speed etc. Taking this to the dealer asap.…
